    Tunbridge Wells WW2 tunnels

WW2 tunnels in tunbridge wells. dose anyone know much about these. my dad told me about them the other day so thort id go have a look bit spooky special in the dark.

the pictures belowe arnt mine i think they are from 2007 or 2008 but its a lot diffrent now. we found 3 entrances, i also found a map which told me were to find entrances A B and C. the only problem is there is a massive woods around them and there a bit hard to find. but we found them. the tunels are at Broadwater Down

all i can tell you from my trip down there is its cold as hell very dark and they are flooded. once we got over the gate that is spose to stop you geting in. we then had to walk down about 40foot of steep steps and they are very steep. once we got the bottom we got stuck because they are flooded and there is still water filling it up becuase in tunnel entrance B or C it sounds like a water full. i jsut hope we have a very good summer so the water gets lower so i can go in the tunnels more.

any info or pics any one has i would love to see them :P

I had no idea these tunnels excisted?

The river Medway around the Tonbridge area has got loads of old second world war pillboxes built by the river side. These were built as an anti invasion defence to prevent a German invasion.

My old school Sussex Road in Tonbridge has loads of underground tunnels which were used during the Second World War as air rade shelters. I was never lucky enough to get down there and seem them though! Damn teachers...
