To swear or not to swear

Just a question I would like to put to our growing number of users, swearing? Would you like us to continue to censor your posts or would you prefer to have the ability to filter all posts and blogs yourself?

Answers please, also any other suggestions from you the users would be appreciated as this website belongs to all of you.

OK, here is my 2 cents!

If this was a traditional forum where posts were hidden on pages behind the home page then swearing wouldn't be a massive issue. You don't have to be an adult to view this site but you do have to be an adult to be a member. This means that children could see the content on the site and this could be seen as offensive. In order to make the site fresh and interesting, all new content is sent through a feed into the home page, which means that various examples of foul and abusive language could find it's way on to the home page if we didn't censor them.

From a commercial point of view, a lot of our members are local business owners. My question is 'Would you like to list your business on a site littered with swearing?'...........

I agree with you, personal message's are fine but anything that is posted for all of us to see should be censored if found to be offensive.
