Oi Stargirl I drive a "Poxy Van" who do you think it is that delivers all your beer, crisps, wine and spirits that you sell with your massive team.
I think that the smoking ban is a good thing however the stupid *** Government need to see the big picture. They can’t force people outside to smoke and then penalize a business for making its customers go outside....! How bloody stupid. It’s like telling them to make smoking gardens for pubs, landlord buys some heaters to keep his punters warm, guess what.....! Government charge them a green fee how bloody stupid. Biggsy was correct it stinks of double standards, Again.
Wally - Who do you think it is who pours your beers on a Friday night?
The response was not intended to offend anyone who drives a van or for that matter anyone who earns an honest wage and pays there taxes - it was a response to mr.beat-a-max who seems to feel that anyone who works within the service trade seems to be beneath him.... which is wrong. As you'll probably know - working in a pub is not just about pouring a pint with a clevage hanging out LOL its a responsible job especially with all the new government rules about under age drinking and serving drunks etc etc
Oh dear I seem to have touched a nerve !!
Firstly let me thank you for taking the bait 'Miss' Stargirl
took the hook straight away didnt ya!! and breathed new life into this thread at the same time ... I thank you!!!
Ever heared the term 'Devils Advocate' stargirl?
However for thr record, I do think that if you work in a pub , bar TGI etc smoking was part on the gig pre smoking ban and no one moaned about it. If they didnt like working in a smokey environment then they got another job , maybee as a lawyer or business analyst.
or somethin else that would really be much too hard for me to do! ( see what i did there
) . So wind yer neck in eh!!
WOW!! It seems like ive missed out on a great debate.LOL
I would like to point it out that it was ME who breathed new life into this thread, by bringing up the whole issue of the smoking ban being great news for the staff and non smoking customers.
So I would like to thank EVERYONE who had bitten to the bait on an old story that I,ve heard a 1000 times due to working in pubs and listening to smokers and non smokers ramble on about smoking in pubs since the ban was introduced in July 2007.
The law will never be changed, but its great having a vocal debate about it.
Keep it up.
