Plans for the £130m redevelopment of Kendal’s Canal Head are
being unveiled to the public. Gilbert, Gilkes and Gordon will reveal
details of the plans during consultation next week.
The plans include:
200 new houses
A 100-bed hotel
650 car parking spaces
5,000
square metres of office space
Several retail stores
An extension to
the canal, a new
bridge over the River Kent and even a walkway to link Kendal Castle with
the town are also proposed.
Can you imagine the manpower it will take to complete this project? I hope it goes through. Can you imagine the amount of Kent jobs it will create and secure?
