All Dover's 24 immigration officer posts will be slashed, even though this was the team responsible for almost 40 per cent of all removals in Kent last year.

Proposals are also being made to shut down the 60-bed detention centre at the port.

The facility is used to detain offenders before deportation and to hold immigrants awaiting interview.

Im not Anti Immigrant, but it seems that its going to be harder to find jobs in Kent because of this. A lot of immigrants work at cheaper rates and work longer hours, anything they can do to stay in the country. I think in a way its unfair to people living in Kent, and i hope that something can be dont about it.
