I feel like my tune is starting to change with time. The government is willing to spend £10M and create 1800 Kent jobs which undeniably is good news however by the sounds of things these jobs aren’t going to be available to all of us:

The jobs are going to be aimed at those who have faced a long phase of unemployment and 18-24 year olds. Ever since the budget came out it was clear that youngsters benefitted most – with many schemes in place to help them during these rocky times. I understand that youngsters are most at risk in this recession with little workplace experience to bring with them on their CV. However a good proportion of job articles I read are all aimed at the young.
Is it fair that jobs are directly created for youngsters? I think many forget that older individuals can also be at risk of discrimination while job searching. Has anyone seen any schemes in place for older people? Or have they been forgotten completely?
