A21 crash involving unmarked police car

A police watchdog is investigating the death of a woman after a crash involving an unmarked police car on the A21.

The accident happened on the Pembury Road, between the Fairthorne Garage and North Farm roundabout at around 12.35pm Tuesday. It has been referred to the IPCC .

The collision involved two cars, one of which belonged to the Metropolitan Police, and was driven by an off-duty officer.

The driver of the other vehicle - a local woman - died at the scene, while a passenger in the same vehicle was airlifted to hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening.

The coroner's office has been advised and the woman's family informed. No further details about the dead woman have yet been released.

The A21 between the A2014 Pembury Road junction and the Longfield Road junction in Tunbridge Wells was closed for several hours while emergency services dealt with the incident.

As i drove home from work last night i saw all the backed up traffic ( luckily i was going the opp direction )  it wasn't until i got home that i saw the news... poor woman.

So i wonder what the off duty officer will get? 6 months and a slapped wrist?

That part of the A21 is an accident hotspot! I

It should really be a duel carriageway with the amount of traffic that uses it daily.
